Bangkok 3D
Flood Risk Map

An interactive 3D map of Bangkok showing flood exposure at building level, with an estimate of the population impacted by district at each water depth.

A reproducible methodology applicable to any city in the world using open-source data.

In 2011, ~2 million people were affected in Bangkok, with water levels reaching up to 1.5m in some districts.

This map is an illustrative model based on terrain elevation, not a validated hydraulic simulation. It shows the potential extent of flooding, not the actual water depth at each location. For rigorous flood modeling, specialized tools such as HEC-RAS would be required.
